SINTEMAR has supplied eight composite stern tube bearings with bronze housings, Railko NF brand, for Minehunter No. 8 of the programme being built by Naval Group in France. These bearings are manufactured by Tenmat-Diamorph, a company represented by Sintemar in Spain and Portugal.
These units form part of a 12-vessel project — six for the Royal Netherlands Navy and six for the Belgian Navy — under the Belgian-Dutch rMCM programme, developed by the Belgium Naval & Robotics consortium led by Naval Group. Each vessel is equipped with two shaft lines, and each line incorporates four bearings: two stern tube bearings and two strut (A-bracket) bearings, enhancing the reliability of the propulsion system.
The propulsion project also includes a significant Spanish industrial contribution through BALIÑO, a Galician company based in Vigo and a key partner in this type of supply. BALIÑO specialises in the manufacture of complete shaft lines with fixed and controllable pitch propellers, as well as propulsion components, stern tubes, rudders, and other propulsion system elements for the naval sector.
