Project carried out at Murueta Shipyard for shipowner Ibaizabal
SINTEMAR has successfully completed the re‑engining works on the harbour tug Alai, owned by Compañía de Remolcadores Ibaizabal, one of the leading port towage service providers operating in the Port of Bilbao.
The works were carried out at Murueta Shipyard and included the removal of the existing equipment, as well as the installation, alignment and securing of the new Wenchai CW6200 marine engine, designed for demanding, high‑duty operational applications.
The engine was secured using a rigid mounting system based on four Chockfast Orange epoxy resin chocks, ensuring proper load transmission, high alignment accuracy and optimal operational stability of the machinery.
With this project, SINTEMAR further strengthens its expertise in re‑engining projects and the installation and chocking of dynamic equipment within the naval sector, delivering reliable technical solutions that enhance vessel performance and operational availability.
