SINTEMAR to participate in the construction of the new oceanographic vessel “Dana V” with next‑generation Feroform technology

06/02/2026

Freire Shipyard – C.N.P. FREIRE, S.A. has begun construction of the silent oceanographic vessel Dana V, designed for DTU – Technical University of Denmark. The vessel is conceived to conduct high‑precision scientific campaigns while minimizing acoustic impact on the marine environment.

SINTEMAR will supply Feroform T12 stern tube bearings from the manufacturer Tenmat— a synthetic, 100% eco‑friendly, water‑lubricated solution that eliminates the use of contaminating lubricants. These bearings—manufactured by Tenmat/Diamorph and distributed by SINTEMAR for more than 30 years—ensure silent operation, high efficiency and long service life in advanced naval applications.

With this collaboration, SINTEMAR reaffirms its commitment to sustainable and innovative technologies, aligned with the new European oceanographic programs.
